After graduation ceremony, the Stokes family played a round of mini-golf. Jodi Stokes won the tournament with a perfect on-par finish and won a free game.

My fun weekend plans

Friday, June 11th, 2010

I am not going to work (in the lab) this weekend. I am looking forward to getting some fun chores done.
Tomorrow morning, I will go to the Waverly Farmer’s Market to look around. I don’t plan to buy much–perhaps just see what’s in season and if they have some ground lamb or ground bison–buy a little something to eat this weekend. I also want to go to my favorite card store in Baltimore, Simply Noted, which is located in the Belvedere Square shopping center.

Tomorrow afternoon, I am getting my hair cut and colored at the Chop Shop. It’s my first visit, so I hope it’s a good experience. It’s located adjacent to my favorite Baltimore coffee shop, Red Canoe, so I may spend a little time before my hair appointment reading papers in preparation for my conference. I haven’t drank any coffee for over 1 month–so I don’t plan to start tomorrow, but I’m sure they have some good chai tea or other liquid treat.

Other chores I need to get done include laundry (before I go to hooding ceremony and Gordon Research Conference) and vacuuming and swiffering the floor (seems like it’s always dirty). I also want to purchase a new cleaning sponge for dishwashing so maybe I’ll find time for a walk to the Giant. Weatherwise, today is warm and beautiful. Going to take off early from work and get some exercise. I made a lot of progress of my poster presentation and gave a copy to my advisor so I don’t plan to do much more work on it until he gives me some feedback.
